Bacterial Cellulose Cartography
This project maps the landscape of bacterial cellulose applications across manufacturing and usage dimensions. By plotting projects on a two-axis grid — from unique fabrication to industrial production, and from non-prescribed to prescribed usage — we reveal patterns in how bio-fabricated materials are being explored, developed, and applied.
The cartography serves as both a research tool and a visual index, connecting practitioners, researchers, and designers working with bacterial cellulose across different sectors and scales.
